I just don't trust myself with seeds! I forget to water, they dampen off, they get eaten by critters.....So it's plants all the way for me.

Me, too. I will be TRYING some seeds next Spring because a DGer kindly gave them to me and I won't do anything to hurt her feelings. (And I did buy some Daylily seeds because I had the fever this year.) But I am usually much too impatient to wait for them to come up, then let them get big enough to thin, then move them to pots, then and then and then. Give me something already grown up in a pot to just plop in a dirt hole and I'm the happiest of campers. Hilarious! Thumbs up

I try every year to be a sower of seed, but never works for me. I forget to tend the seedlings or squirrels tear them up. So I am definately team Plant, it is so much more rewarding for me.

The season is so short up here and I have very little good indoor space for starting seed especially because so many of my outdoor plants 'winter in' and hog the windows. I'm a perennial gardener and, while I will collect from the yard and and fall sew, primarily everything I do aside from vegetable plants from the garden center is tuber, bulb, crowns, fans, and transplants.

That must make me a plant person. Smiling

This popped up as a random idea today... I am totally Team Plants. I made a note in my garden journal this past spring to QUIT fighting myself. I don't do seeds. I try to do seeds and always fail. Even when I get some seedlings going, the grocery store will invariably have a 4" pot all ready to go while mine are still in eggshells (or whatever other strange process I'm trying). I don't have, or want, a greenhouse. I like the instant gratification of plugging a plant in the ground, giving it some water, then sitting back and admiring it. I love to trade starts with folks, but only locally, not through the mail. I also do a lot of dividing what I already have for my own expansion, and/or seeing what I can find out in my back woods. My plant budget will severely be cut back once I retire (in one month, yay) so I'll be snooping around the neighbors' yards more.

The only seeding I do is to gather seeds from plants that will likely self-sow (poppies, Echinacea, rudbeckia) and toss them down my hillside. My failure rate is high there as well, but at least I have no money and little time invested.

It's all good.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.
