We do have a lot of bunnies in the yard... during most of the year, they don't have much impact, partly because they seem to prefer the plentiful clover and because there are a lot of plants out there, so damage gets spread out. Some years they have more impact than others on early spring plants like crocus, so they may not be giving the sweet peas a chance to get off the ground, so to speak

I have just just made available 3 packs of Masterwort (Astrantia Major) seeds. The seeds were collected in England in 2015. I no longer remember the flower color(s). The flower color of this plant can be white, or pink or burgundy, but the color is not very bright. I like this plant because the stalks are upright, but I have not grown it myself.

I just realized the seed swap tool had changed status at 7 pm to be closed to trading...

I changed the setting so that you can still make requests, however, I know some folks already have their seeds sorted out and ready to go, so

please realize that "dibs" placed from here onward may not make it into your bag!

Hi gang, Buttoneer here. Critter sent me a note last night because I completely forgot about it. (Duh) so Bobbin & I will be there, providing the weather behaves. Jill, you can tell Sally G that Bob & I will take the cheapie Senior special ($ 12.00 X 2 = @ 24.00) Since this a last minute deal, I will be bringing a couple plastic tubs (Not too large) with assorted seeds: sunflowers, Love in a mist, Hardy Hibiscus, Hog Bean (in the sweet pea family), Hardy hairy beans, and too many to remember. Some are fresh, some are older. You should remove a portion of seeds in the bag, what you want, put in a smaller bag (provided) and put a sticker (also provided) on and write the name on it. There will be a pen or two there too. I am bringing two doorprizes, both small enough to fit on the table. As for what I am looking for, I'll just take whatever you have left, (a small bag), since it,s 10:45 p. Friday Feb 3rd, time is short. Our sweet Fritzie passed away back in November and so I went to a reptile expo & bought a White's treefrog that Bob calls Bubba. We don't know if it;s a boy or girl so we'll wait until it gets larger.

Aww, so sorry about your precious Fritzie! Bubba is cool, but less cuddly. Looking forward to seeing you!

I'm bringing a box of semi-alphabetical seed packs as well as a couple of binders of semi-sorted seed in hopes of reducing my "stash." I'll put them at one end of the "free to good home" table... Look through and snag whatever you'd like to try. I'm trying to be realistic about my reduced digging abilities; there's no sense having seed "age out" if it might be just what somebody else is looking for!

There's also a big basket of single packets that has new seeds, old seeds, commercial seeds, seeds from trades, common seeds, rare seeds, flowers, veggies,... you get the idea. They'll be in the middle of the "free" table!

I have a couple of odd packets that are pretty neat but need the right home...

Anybody interested in growing potatoes from seed? They're a "landrace" crop, grown from seed for genetic diversity within a tasty/productive strain.

LMK if you want to try the HOTTEST of the hot, Bhut Jholaka peppers.

Dear Mid Atlantic Gardening forum friends. I had such a good time yesterday, picked more seeds that I was planning too, ate more food that should have, but I am already thinking now: I should go back again sooner than next year February. I picked a bag of 4 o'clock seeds. That and the balsam plants reminded me of my childhood. My friends and I used to open the seeds of the 4 clock plants and used it as face powder when we were playing house. And it was lots of fun to pop the seeds of the balsam plants. The leaves of hibiscus we crushed with water and that was 'oil'. Then I used to get the dry-pressed shredded coconut flesh from my mother, then colored it with the juices of flowers and the yellow of turmeric. We added lime to the yellow coconuts and it became bright orange. Made dolls with fabric handkerchieves. Made flutes with the stems of fresh rice stalks. Also weaved from young papyrus leaves, and made all kinds of figures with cassava stalks. The core of the main stalks of the cassava plant: we took out the core and cut them into pieces and color them in different hues with flower petals and turmeric. What a difference with children of today. I am grateful though that we have Internet, I can now watch performances in China and Europe, and enjoy all the beautiful views of lots of places around the world.

Anyway, thank you all for the fun day, especially Frenchy21, who gave me a ride there and back home. Hopefully some of the seeds will sprout and live for me.
