Maybe that's exactly what I need. A good year of de-acclimation (is that a thing? Hilarious! ). Who wants to trade locations for a year? **full disclosure--South Texas is extremely warm in the summer**

This is where I am compared to Florida, so I guess I need to be further south than a St. Petersburg/Palm Bay line.

Goodness, you're already farther south than I am.I'm just 35 miles south of the GA line. Yup, you'd need to go south of Lake Okeechobee. How do you feel about humidity because if you're not a fan, you'd hate it!

I actually love humidity. I can't stand dry air. I'd rather it be a solid 100% over it getting below 65%.

Oh heavens James! You certainly need to move to south FL then. You'd be in hog heaven! Anywhere from mid latitude Lake Okeechobee southward and inland is more humid & hot than coastal. Heck, you'd adore the Everglades; just don't get eaten by a python. The gulf coast of FL is quite humid also.

Me? Grew up in SE coastal FL & am done with it. We have always loved some winter. This suits us great.

I am heading into possibly 8 inches in NC ..on our maiden RV voyage.

8 inches in NC is like 15 feet in other states!

Have no idea what the RV is capable of....but I got a box of chocolates and a fully charged battery and propane...and a toilet full of antifreeze... and YOU..,I got YOU and if I say help! Please help me!

Wow, Anna and Ginny. Our wind-chill tonight has been lowered from 12F to 6F. Bridges and overpasses will be icing for sure. We don't get above freezing today or tomorrow and that's very unusual for the Deep South. I imagine south of us and then everything east of us are going to have a real mess. The sleet and snow has stopped and there is just a little accumulation. That being said, I just got notice that all our city offices are now closed, with only "essential" services remaining open.

Wow - you just aren't prepared for our kind of winter........ guess there's no winter tires or chains there. What would you do with a Canadian blizzard - freeze, more assuredly........ Blinking

Nope, neither winter tires nor chains. If one of your blizzards hit here I imagine it would be a catastrophe beyond belief. I guess one positive of living in an area that knows no (true) winter weather, we don't use any salt on our streets and highways. Our car bodies don't deteriorate like they do up north.

We don't use salt here anymore - it would be hard on the car bodies - we use sand. Thumbs up

Oh, OK. I thought salt was still used pretty much everywhere. I live in the South. What do I know? D'Oh!
