Any Brandywine that I have tried has been a dud for me. Tried different plants from different growers but really few fruits that yup, split and cracked if I did get a fruit.

This is the best Brandywine I have ever had. Best by far. Still, probably not going to grow it again but we will see.

Ananas Noire.

Looks like a red tomato with green shoulders until you cut into it. Then all the colors are really something. Each slice I cut was different looking.

So I got this because I read about the taste descriptions that it is so unique and the taste should be divine. Certainly is unique as nothing in my garden tastes anything like it. Unfortunately I didn't like it at all. Not at all!!

I am curious what my friends will think as I gave it, marked, to two very good friends and said to try this and see what you think. I am curious to hear back. But personally, I don't like it at all. Didn't even want to finish eating the tomato in my taste test.

I will not be planting Ananas Noire next season.

Some of the slices looked almost tye dyed. Really they are supposed to look like that. As to taste I think this tomato is just so different that it falls into the love, love, love it or I really can't stand it category.

I had BLT's made with Black from Tula tomatoe. It was a very good tasting large tomato. Three sandwiches from one tomato. Still not getting a lot of ripe larger tomatoes but plenty of cherry varieties to keep me happy until they do.

Harless Creek Gold. This tomato was a pound and a half.

Also Harless Creek Gold. This is a really large one of 2 pounds.

Sliced so you can see the lovely gold interior.

I bought seeds at Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds.

I would say I don't really like the catfacing but the tomatoes all seem to be very large. The first picture was the first ripe fruit so it is a late tomato. As far as yellow slicers go, this is the best tasting by far that I have ever tried.

A medium/large tomato that ripens to an amber color with green shoulders. Plant grows quite large and needs staking/caging for support. Fruit set is moderate. It did manage to keep setting some fruit even during some very hot periods. Very susceptible to late blight.

Flesh of the fruit is a bright, vivid green and quite soft. Taste is very good...very sweet with a touch of spicy.

While I like the taste of this tomato very much, due to it's issues with blight I'm not likely going to try this cultivar again.

I hate it when a tomato taste so good but is not worth the time & space to grow it! Thumbs down

This week has been a good start for the tomato season. We are about two weeks late but we have frozen a bunch, eaten a bunch and taken a big boxful down the the local Post Office to share with the village.

This is the pile harvested yesterday, Friday Aug 19.

Harless Creek Gold. Love these big yellow slicers. A lot of flavor. Surprising amount of flavor for a yellow tomato. I will be planting these again next season for sure.

Roasted two batches of tomato sauce yesterday with one more coming up today. Used mostly Polish and Kosovo tomatoes that I had to bag to prevent critters from feasting on them. The Kosovos are a nice meaty tomato (see pic--mostly hearts but occasional doubles or other shapes) with few seeds excellent for slicing as well as sauce. Both had produced heavily with most fruit well over one pound.
