We have lots of dandelions, but they are about done now. Just the stragglers poking their yellow heads up.

Update on my chicks:




They are getting bigger and doing well. As soon as my car is out of the shop on Monday, I'm going to get some wood to build the coop.

They are looking good.

Have the pasty butts ceased to be a problem? Hope you haven't lost any of them.

I still count 13.

I'm may have to temporarily have somebody else take care of the chicks. I may have developed a kidney stone. I'm showing a lot of symptoms.

I have a lot of family here, so they can help out.

My baby chicks arrived on Saturday. I ordered 15, got 17. I'm sure the two extras are probably roosters, but that's OK.

Pic was taken late so it's kind of dark. They are doing well so far.

Kidney stones are not fun. DS#1 had it and he was miserable. Hope yours passes quickly.

Since I am not able to get a puppy this summer I thought I would add a few chickens. I just ordered some eggs for my broody Silkie.
Bantam Cochins...hopefully I wont be hatching any roos!

About half of them will be roosters.

I feel ya on the puppy deal. I'm wanting a couple dogs for out here but now that we're out here it's a big not happening. I may have to sneak a couple here somehow. Except that might get me evicted... Chickens on the other hand they're all for. I said I'm not cleaning their house this round. I did it before and don't care to get in there and see a big, fat snake hiding and scaring me. Plenty of them here!!
