The original label was Makuli-curtisii X Maudiae. Makuli X Paphiopedilum curtisii (now called Paphiopedilum superbiens) has been registered as Memoria Allegria Gutierrez. Memoria Allegria Gutierrez X Maudiae is Janet Kunkle.

Many of the orchids displayed at the Susquehanna Orchid Society were labeled in ways that differed from the nomenclature assigned to them in the NGA plant database, so I am wondering whether two different nomenclature schemes are currently in use or perhaps the nomenclature is changing too fast for orchid growers to keep up.

Would it be useful and feasible to have AKA information in each entry where more than one name is in use?

Where plants are added using a previous genus, I generally either add it as a synonym (if the old genus name is no longer accepted at all by the RHS) or as a "Also sold as" if the genus is still used (i.e. Brassolaeliocattleya) but no longer applies to that particular grex. That still allows it to be found during a search, so provides the "aka" you're referring to. In this particular case, it was a cross that has since been registered, so in order not to lose the original information for this particular photo I started the thread.
