Decided to put our the stuff for borers since we have had several days in the 70s and expect a 74 and 76 this week. I had 2-in-1 and 3-in-1 and used it until it ran out. Then I just used the Bayer Season Long stuff on the rest. I guess I can have a test going on to see what works the best. After a few weeks I will follow up with Bonide that has imidacloprid in it but no fertilizer. I think the Bayer has 6-9-6 so will not overdo. I just thought I needed to get the borer stuff down to get it into the roots and up to the leaves more than I needed fertilizer.

I need to get the grub killer out. This weekend might be a good time.

Boy, we need rain. Last year the California people were saying that and we were wishing to send them some. Such a reversal!

A couple of our beds are snow free but not all. So don't worry about fertilizer . We usually use 5-10-10. in the early spring.

I think that the idea of planting reblomers in the same bed, is they all need extra water and the others do not. You CAN over water irises.

Well, Lucy, my irises are getting more water now than they ever have! We had a welcome day of sunshine yesterday and another sunny day today and tomorrow. The irises look great. Only a couple of places on our land where there is any standing water - a small fig tree is struggling in one of them - planted two years ago, it suffered through drought and now wet feet! But we haven't had the serious rain-caused problems of some on this forum, like Rob and Sherry. Group hug
More rain forecast for next week.
CORRECTION - just googled weather for my zip code.-Sat. and Sun. rain - but no rain all next
week! Yay!
