My first forcer this year - Rijnveld's Early Sensation
(2-12-17).

About 12 more pots of tulips and daffodils are presently out of their cold period and under fluorescent light in cool basement. There they are allowed to develop bud then brought upstairs to admire.
Thumb of 2017-02-15/jmorth/a70719

The dedicated refrigerator in basement is starting to look bare.
Thumb of 2017-02-15/jmorth/1c150c

After that, more to come. Here they're still in the Cold Period, in totes under rugs in our covered stairwell. (right side only, left side is lilies.
These were purchased from Brent and Becky's half off sale after Thanksgiving and potted up 12-7-6.

J, your RES is beautiful, and a perfect color echo for the orchid blooming close by. I'm looking toward to seeing the rest of your forced bulbs.

The hyacinths I forced have turned out to be a very bright cheerful pink. The fragrance is wonderful. The first batch of forced tulips are now showing their buds.

My first forced Daf. is open fully today. I will have to check on it's name. There are ten more stems developing in the pot, so it should bloom for a while It is a large flower white with a yellow trumpet.

All of my forcer pots are now out of their cold period but one. There's 21 pots presently under fluorescent lights in the cool basement. As they approach blooming time, they get moved upstairs...so, there's more to come...

First batch of tulips is blooming. Beautiful color and form but very short stems? I believe they are Dordogne.

Usually the stems will lengthen after the blooms develop color, especially when in warmth and reaching for the light.

Thanks for the tip Neal. This is the first time I have forced tulips. I have a 10" bulb pot of daffodils just about ready to explod into bloom. Their buds are mostly 18-20" tall. There were 10 bulbs planted in it and 9 of them have buds. I think the dafs will bloom for a long period of time.
