Ordered several of these, and plan on putting some in my Mom's small garden.. She has also asked for Echinacea Hot Papaya, which I'm including a picture of, for those unfamiliar. My question is, will this be a clash of epic proportions? Some pictures it looks burgundy, others a lovely metallic lavender/purple. I've also read it described, on a blog, as a "moody purple, with no hint of red". I know I'm going to love it, no matter. For those who grow this, would you plant it with red?

I have 'Dark Star', I'm not sure if it will clash or not, it's not a bright colour. Often when I'm not sure I'll hold the flower of one plant next to the contemplated companion before planting to see if it works. Having different shades and tints of the same basic colour can work together although red is a little more difficult and tends to work better as accents rather than en masse. If you're not sure you could get something else to plant between them, maybe something with silvery foliage, or white flowers.

Thanks all. I will keep all the Dark Star for me. I've been looking for an excuse to get her Wild Horses, anyhow. Thank You!
