Keep a rain barrel at each door to the house to dip your muddy feet in before coming back inside the house after gardening.

Great minds, CJ - I thought the same thing!

But it is awfully nice to rinse my hands off before going in, too - I'm very water conservative. Hurray!
In the end, only kindness matters.

Well, here in Texas there's no rain to speak of, so it would have to be tap water! Sometimes I wear a pair of crocs while working in the yard and have another pair waiting outside the back door, because the shoes can get pretty dirty. But guess I could wash the feet AND the crocs.

LOL
At work, we have a bucket outside that catches water from a leaky faucet. I used it to wash the mud off a broom the other day.

Many rain barrels have a spigot at the bottom so you can turn on the tap and rinse dirty shoes and feet. I wear Croc's for gardening when I'm not barefoot Smiling but I have a garden hose right by the back door so I can spray off my shoes and feet before coming on the porch and into the house.

*Blush* I must admit though ... sometimes I come in through the garage and track leaves and dirt into the house making more work for myself because then I have to get out the vacuum! Grumbling

Maybe she is telling on herself for being bare foot a lot. I just kick my shoes off. Not a good idea to raise my leg either, I might fall over!! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Mat.6:28-29
