After the winter of 2016, one of my SEV's didn't come up until July. I was sure I had lost it. Now this spring, it was one of the first up, and it is the best it has ever looked. Shrug! Go figure!

Up here in Zone 2-3, I was surprised to see I only have three evergreens left:
Canadian Border Patrol
Velveteen
Jolyene Nichole
All others gone due to under performance. I haven't purchased an evergreen in a long time. I have many semi-evergreens and dormant. We regularly get temps in the -40 degree range, but usually have good snow cover. It's not our winters that kills plants, it's our springs. It gets nice and warm, starts things growing, then WHAMMO, a hard frost, things rot, sob.
