I've seen photos of tagged Monarchs before, but never saw one outside in real life.

You have to purchase the tags and use them at the fall migration period. After you have your info recorded you send it in and it is added to the database for that year. It can be looked up later to see if your tagged Monarchs were recovered in Mexico.

Monarch Watch is a great organization. I had my yard certified as a Monarch Waystation through their program.

I have never tagged Monarchs though. I may give that a try next year.

Yes it is. My oldest son is set on helping me out this next year as well. It really gave him a boost to help me out in the garden

There are lots of children and teens in my neighborhood. I think I might put up a mailbox or something of the sort to put some of the bookmarks in for them to take a long with maybe some milkweed seed packets. What do you think?
