Dumortieri is always my very first daylily to bloom & I saw its first scape yesterday. I'm not sure how long it usually takes for first bloom, but I don't think this will be blooming particularly early this year. It bloomed one year April 12, a normal year it blooms sometime after April 20. Up til last year I could count on seeing no scapes on any other daylily til this one was finishing its last blooms, but Fernstone showed up quite early last year. That was its first year in my garden, I'm anxious to see how it does this year.

That's awesome! Can't wait to see the blooms : )

I keep checking mine with hope/dread. I want my flowers to start gearing up and I am petrified we're gonna get some horrid late frost...

I know exactly how you feel. Supposed to get to 33 degrees Friday night. I have peonies getting ready to bloom any day, some already in bloom, as well as the scapes on the daylilies. Regular lilies are up several inches out of the ground, really hoping for wind movement or something so it doesn't frost.
