i think this is a nice looking plant but i've been fooled before. the purple blooms are very intricate and seem almost orchid like. is this a bad weed?
just to add:) the flower does smell like a violet.

Viola odorata/Sweet Violet maybe? Definitely a Violet of some kind.

I agree, looks like a Viola of some type; possibly
Marsh Violet (
Viola adunca
)
