A friend of mine just dropped off a full garbage bag of Spring bulbs like Daffodils, Tulips, Crocus & Allium. She said they were throwing them out at a store and she took them. Do you think it is worth planting them? I think the tulips are useless since they usually only look good the first year after planting here. But at first I thought it would just take an extra year to see the flowers on the others, but then I read something about if they don't have root s when temps reach a certain degree they will just rot. It would be way too much work to plant them all just so they could rot. Has any one had experience doing this or know someone that has?

you can plant them, but should be planted in the fall.

When I was working for the town beautification, we yanked overgrown daffs just as their blooms finished & replanted them in the cemetery.....they were fine....I'd give it a try......

Even if half live, you still have some nice plants......
