Oh my, and I have some Maryotts that I just love. But first I need to actually attend a show, before I start entering....

This is a great way to get new intros and good for Maryott too.

I grow several of Maryott's daylilies here. I never went to any of the shows since most of them are a far distance from where we live. LIGHT OPERA is one which does so great here. I now have 2 clumps of it . I got it for hybridizing to get my perfect pink daylily .

That's a lovely daylily Julia, nice clump.

Good way to promote your own daylilies. I couldn't do that, with Michele entering shows I wouldn't have a daylily left in a couple of years.

By the way Fred, we get to have our show at the mall and we don't have to pay a thing to have it there

I don't think he's the only one...I remember hearing that Bob Scott of Topguns fame does, too (http://www.bobscottnursery.com... I won Best Double in 2010 at RADS (my one and only win) with Cherry Smash Cupcake, Tim Herrington sent me a plant...which I thought was very sweet (he is a very nice man)...in typical fashion, he put thought into it and sent me Weekend in Harrisburg which is named for Lilyhemmer, our fall meeting (region 3) and which has special significance for Tim (Katisue's last public appearance) and me (another one and only win for me...I won the plant in the raffle that the Herringtons donated that year....Dorothy and Toto).

That's good news about the show, will get a lot more exposure from the public and maybe a couple of new members. Did you set a date?

Yes, it's for May 20th, the day after the Mobile show.

Thank you for the compliments. LIGHT OPERA is a wonderful grower and bloomer here. I have mostly open field around us so the gardens take a beating in the winter with the cold north /west wind hitting them straight on.

I also grow INCENDIARY, BECAUSE OF YOU, DEEP IN MY HEART, DILEMMA,MEXICAN MAGIC, PREDICTION AND SOCIAL GRACES. These do okay, but not outstanding as I've seen LO do here.
