took cuttings a few weeks ago and stuck them in water. I'm seeing new leaves, but no roots. Should I be doing something different?

Here's what Top Tropicals sez, assuming it's the same plant?:

Propagation: Cup of gold usually is propagated from stem cuttings taken in summer and rooted with bottom heat.

Rooted with bottom heat??

Janice...I got my plant at the Florala swap I *think* either fall 2009 or spring 2010. It had buds last winter in my GH, but we got a hard freeze and my heaters didn't keep up so they dropped Crying I cut it back this fall before putting it in the GH (a wild child needing a haircut) Rolling on the floor laughing It now has 7-10 buds so I'm really hopeing for blooms, but sadly the weather guessers are calling for a freeze warning tonight. If they hang on and bloom I'll post pics.

IOWs, put it in soil and allow it to root with a heat mat or some other heat source.

I remember getting cuttings of this plant years ago, we just called it Chalice Flower, a bit of a sprawling but not out of control vine. It was pretty easy to strike. If you're having problems it's more likely the fact you're running into cold weather than anything else. And I'd agree with putting it in soil now and not leaving it in water.

I'm told it smells like coconut...haven't noticed yet, but then it just opened yesterday and I probably haven't been in the GH at the right time. Today it has taken on it's golden color. Probably should have waited on the pic, but didn't want to risk it dropping. Shrug!
