Did anyone else learn this song as a child?

Bright coral bells
Upon a slender stalk
Lily of the valley
In my garden walk

Oh don't you wish
That you could hear them ring?
That will happen only
When the fairies sing.

I had a mother who loved music, and sang all the time to me.

Remembering Girl Scout camp - Camp Standish and the Tippecanoe test.
Two Scouts had to take a small canoe out into the shallow part of the lake, swamp it, turn it over, and get back in to paddle ashore. My friend Esther and I laughed so hard we had to try over and over! I don't know if we ever passed the test!

Jan, I learned that song, too, either in elementary school or in the Brownies. The tune came back to me immediately.

@janwax Jan, that song was sung by the whole class in first and second grade during our "music sessions". Then in second grade we put on a class play something about Peter Rabbit's Tale-
(The Tale of Peter Rabbit)- kind of fuzzy now; it's been a few years (quite a few)!

Here's another that went something like this:
And one little bluebird comes to you
To wish you all good day.
We hope you have a lovely time
In all your work and play.

You struck a nostalgic chord when you posted. Interesting how the memory works (or not).
You made my day! Smiling
Thank You!

What if each one makes 40 seeds? Will you have enough space?

Really? Blinking Well, if I get that lucky, I'll have to have some help! I'm so glad you two let me know the possibilities.. I'm done making crosses! This season...

I had so much luck with my very first cross - my golden Philo Slowpoke, that's still blooming, with a total of 5 blooms! - that it inspired me to play with daubing. But just as the Pythons sang "Every seed is sacred"! (er, "sperm"), I could be in trouble if I get too many!

I went around and counted up the seed pods today. (I don't think that I'll be doing any more iris crosses this season, unless maybe 'Mesmerizer' x 'Winterland'... or vice versa.) I have 10 fat pods, some of which the pollen parent was known, a couple of which I forgot to write down (but I can guess what I might have tried). Even if only 40 seeds per, that's a whole lot of seeds, and for sure I'm not going to be planting them all. Blinking (One cross I may not plant any of them, seeing that I'm not crazy about the color, and it was really more by way of a "practice" cross.)
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

Jan,
The worst case scenario is 35 crosses x 70 seeds = 2450 seeds Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

I have made the same mistake. My first seed pod attempt yielded 10 seeds of which 9 germinated. Two years later I decided to make 3 more crosses and expected to yield about 30 seeds. Those 3 seed pods yielded 15, 39 and 43 seeds. About 80 of those seeds germinated. Next summer I will remove some lawn and make a new bed for them. They will be planted close together and I will be ruthless when it comes to culling the ones that don't excite me. I have more seedlings than I have named varieties.

Jan,
Seed counts can be high, even on SDB's. This one had 63 seeds from Bluebeards Ghost.
So you could easily have 40+.
