They key is to check the swap list on a regular basis to increase your chances of getting what you want.
As trading progresses, Once trading ends on 07-Sep-2017, you will be able to access a list of everything that people are interested in getting from you.
You will also want to watch
https://garden.org/apps/swap/events/13/ . It's the 'recent events' log for the swap. It shows when an item is added, removed, dibbed, etc.
If something that you really want is gone before you get a chance to calls dibs, you can send a 'tree mail' to the person offering it to see it they have any more. (Tree mail keeps the conversation private.)
Once trading starts, you will also be able to keep track of what people are wanting from you. (I'll provide more info on that once trading starts.) That way, you can start prepping before the last minute arrives. Then, on the day of the swap, you load up your vehicle with everything that people have requested. You are also welcome to bring a few extras along for the 'free to good home' table. Also, we have small gift exchange where everyone brings a small item that can be used in the garden, around the house, etc. Items in the past have included gloves, planters, books, artwork, bulbs, head lamps and stuff.
As people arrive at the swap, they fill out their name tag and one for the drawing. As the day begins to wind down, someone is pulled from the hat. They get their choice from the gift table and pull the next name. Once everyone has had a chance to pick
something, any remaining items are moved to the 'free to good home' table.
And of course, there's the food, drink and conversation with a bunch of total plants nerds!
