I love 'Catherine' -- she was one of my first daylilies. Beautiful photo.

A lovely, classic, photo, with one of my old time favourite Daylilies: Catherine Woodbery.

And Margaret, I also love your bright and perky new Avatar, the red and white Columbine. Is it Aquilegia 'Songbird Cardinal' by any chance?

Thank you Nancy and Nora. Catherine Woodbery is an oldie but a goodie for sure, she has survived under harsh conditions here for about 10 years.

Nora, I don't know what cultivar the columbine is as I grew it from seeds that I was sent from Linda, (quietyard) a couple of years ago and she didn't know the name. It looks like it could be 'Songbird Cardinal' except for the height, it is only about 15 inches high, it's very pretty, lots of blooms.

Thanks for your response, Margaret. I love your photo without needing a name.

I just looked into finding other Banners by you and found one from May 1 and one from April 23 (Arnica would be my guess). No time to look further but enough to look forward to looking for more photos of yours. I have yet to figure out if my Picasa pictures can be made into Banners. Maybe next winter.

Gotta love that bee!!!
"My work is loving the world. Here the sunflowers, there the hummingbird — equal seekers of sweetness. Here the clam deep in the speckled sand. Are my boots old? Is my coat torn? Am I no longer young, and still not half-perfect? Let me keep my mind on what matters, which is my work which is mostly standing still and learning to be astonished." — Mary Oliver, from Messenger
