I love this.
I have an area of my garden devoted to blue and lavender irises. It's my favorite area in May.

Here you go, took me a while to find it again.

WOW waht a great combination. I love the same palet in lights and darks.

They grow in a bed on the west side of the house and when the setting sun shines on them it's like magic! I can't find a picture of that, but you can imagine.

It was part of my plan. I wasn't sure how those colors would look in the setting sun, but it really doesn't change the colors much, only makes them sort of glow.

In the back I planted golds and yellows and reds for a different look in the setting sun. On the east side, I planted white shade plants. So yes, the sun plays a large part in my gardening plans. I like the way the light plays with colors and in turn creates moods.

I had not given that much thought to east or west plantings.
There was a DG'er who planted so that her colors changed with the season,went from cool to warm. OMG I am just not that clever.

Oh but look at the glow.

Wish I could paint that.

I almost think acrilics woild be the best medium for deep glowing color.
