This is an unusual attractive fern, I met it several times in dark places of the rainforest, Paraty, Brazil. The way it makes its spores is rather original for a fern almost looking like a flower.. Rolling my eyes.

No luck so far Myriam! I found a site with a few pages of ferns in Brazil which you might have as well.

http://www.floranopolis.net/ar...

I don't know if this site will help, they have around 500 ferns including tropical ones. Ugh, they used to have lots of ferns listed but have transferred the business to Bowden Hostas, shop is closed now and I guess it won't be showing the same number of ferns as before.

I think the first is correct, can't say for sure with the second but it looks close. There's a lot of species which are not well represented.

Elaphoglossum potosianum is similar to the original one posted! I thought it could be in Polypodiopsida, so found it on EOL, it could be a lead..

Microsorium dilatatum is similar but it's in Asia.. you might find there's two types of spore.

Rare ferns is where I got my lead..

So many can be similar in looks but belong to a different genus or family though. More searching usually brings up more results.

Thank you Janet!

Elaphoglossum potosianum has something in common with the original one posted in its fertile fronds..so maybe yes, is related..

Rare ferns has some very interesting specimen, some have resemblance to other ferns I need an ID for..
But it might prove an impossible task to get them ID! Rolling my eyes.
We better leave it here.. Smiling

The plant is not a fern actually, no wonder we couldn't find it! Hilarious! My thanks to Tony Rodd who found the family and genus. Then I managed to find the species, it is Dorstenia arifolia - Moraceae Hurray!

Lol, I did wonder if it might be something else but it is so fern-like!

Nice to put a name to it!
