Nope, but I do have a single pretty much the same color with lavender edges. Is there a "generic" listing in the DB for NOID camellias? There was no way I could wade through 21 (I think) pages...started to get a headach Blinking

I found a list of Camellias registered with the ACS, unfortunately they are listed in alphabetical groups but if you feel like going through them you might find it.

I once had a site where you could select by type, it was on a Camellia society site but I don't recall which. This is an anemone form which is quite distinctive.

Arthur Gayle is a possibility but I can only find the one photo, this site has a lot named alphabetically.

http://www.jimscamellias.co.uk...

The description fits but I would like to see a better photo to be sure! The photo seems to show some white on the middle petals.

SCCS, 1981, Camellia Nomenclature, p.20: Dark red. Very large, semi-double to anemone form. Vigorous, bushy, upright growth. Mid-season blooming. Originated by Ray Gentry, Jacksonville, Mississippi, USA.

It's grown in California ..

One of the camellia growers in Florida, a long list!

I picked out Grand Marshall as it is a "Medium to large to peony and anemone" but I don't think it quite fits. Yours is more of a semi-double to anemone form I think! I found a good site though!

You can see how difficult this is with so many introductions now.

It's a gorgeous Camellia I agree! I have a few, looking through all the photos makes me want more though! I need a few acres and plenty of money. Hilarious!

I've looked through the A, B & C's on the last link, don't forget there's more than one page for each letter.

'Betty Robinson' looks very close but I can't find any reference to it in the US, maybe it's not quite right either.

I've got the acres but no money Shrug!
I did a google of camellia anemone form...the one site that looked promising showed "basic" search and told me my internet connection was too slow! Grumbling like I didn't already that Blinking not one of the images they showed was a red.

Janet looking at your links there were several that were very close. I went out and cut another bloom. In person I guess you could call the color a dark rosey red rather then RED red. The center almost seems to have lavender tones to it and when pulling it (center) open there are signes that it wants to have a tad of white varigation. So I guess it should remain a beautiful NOID. Thanks for your efforts Lovey dubby

It might be possible to find it Ginger, but that might take a long time! If the centre does open up more post some pics, there are some with white stamens amongst the small petals. If it's found later it can be given a name then moved.

Hey Janet...I dropped an E-mail to one of your links (I think it was rather then one I found on google Blinking ). Anyway it was camelliaplants...got a reply...said they felt it is Professor Charles Sargent...so now I gotta go back and find that one so as to have the proper info to submit to the DB. Will have to wait as the doggies are acting like they are starving. NOT overweight all. Rolling my eyes.

I found a description on backyardgardener, it says it's an intense scarlet ..

http://www.backyardgardener.co...

There's a 'Professor Sargent' on this site which is probably the same but it's an intense scarelt too..

http://www.jimscamellias.co.uk...

If yours opens up with white bits in the middle I wouldn't mind betting it's one of Nuccio's.

Actually it looks a good match on this site, maybe the rest are not correct!

Well I feel good that my camellia is Professor Charles Sargent. The pics in the last two links look spot on...thinking "in person" rather then based just on my pic. He has been submitted to the DB. Thanks again Janet for your help Lovey dubby When it comes to an ID you are as tenacious as my red nose pit with her BIG ball Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Group hug

Team work Ginger! Thumbs up

I guess if we had gone through the alphabet on that site we would have found it but getting a nursery to give a name enabled us to confirm it!
