Anyone making or giving things from the garden?

I have home grown herbs I am giving to a few friends.
Wish I had made some jam out of the strawberries instead of gobbling them all up

I got some gift certificates to a Garden center for my local friends, along with packets of seed from my garden and gloves.
But didn't do any dried herb wreaths this year.
Giving DBH a few pairs of gloves, as well, as he does all the really hard work out there.

What did everyone ask Santa for in the gardening realm?

I asked for gift certificates from my favorite vendors or nurseries.

I made lavender, rosemary seasoning salt for my mom and sister. It is a combination of the two herbs and sea salt. I got the idea from a renaissance fair I went to this Fall. I normally just make enough to use at a meal, so I had to guess at quantities when I made it as a gift. It is good sprinkled on roast that has been brushed with olive oil (as a marinade). We have also used it as part of our seasoning for meat that we grill, chicken breasts, steak. I also think it would be good in beef stew.

Maridell, I was suckered into buying a mix of the 3. Then I bought a bunch of dried Rosemary that has close to no taste. Next summer, I'm going to make my *own*.

Sheryl, definitely make your own next summer, the difference is amazing.

I bet. I just hope my plant puts on some growth... I probably should have planted it with more sun in mind.

Garden related, I asked for bird house or feeders, some of mine are just falling apart.

I like the salt idea , my son always uses a salt rub on out steaks and they are great, we almost never go out for steak anymore because his are better.

Garden gloves are always a good idea, by chance are they the atlas gloves?

The Atlas are so wonderful, aren't they? These are just plain ones.
Cut some Rosemary stalks today to stick in the ribbons.

What types of birdhouses do you like, Cinda?
