I don't know if that can be narrowed by area!

I think it could a climber Janet, in the picture I see a stem coming out from the right side with leaves all the way on the edge of the picture that shows it being the same plant (I think), but that could also be an offset..strangely there is also one single leaf that looks like P.monstera
Not sure though if Philodendron giganteum would be the one, the leaf edges on mine are wavy..

Eeeeeek, so many, siiiiiiigh.. but this one even may not be Brazilian as it was in the botanical garden, so could also be from other tropical countries..

There's lots of pics showing P. giganteum with wavy leaves.. yes I noticed the cut leaf too but wasn't sure if it was torn.

I see the plant to the right looks to have a wandering root coming from the main plant, some aroids do that, Colocasia does it, the one I have I think is Black Stem sends out a sort of stem from underground which would root to make another plant if it had chance. It could be a Colocasia or something similar.

It could be a Colocasia too Janet, thank you for the links, lots of useful pictures on the first one, I have looked at all the wavy rimmed P.giganteum but somehow it still doesn't feel right.. Yes, the wandering root coming from the main plant was what I meant with 'a stem coming out from the right side' I couldn't word it correctly!

Those spikes coming from the fibrous base look like the start of spathes, look at Xanthosoma undipes ..
