Rain this morning then it dried up finally. Small chance tomorrow but if we get any between now and Sat morning I won't be able to get my veggie area dug. Doing it the hard way by digging up clumps of grass and clearing the area that way. No time to wait for it to dry enough for a tiller to run anywhere here. More rain coming next week again. So gonna dig by hand in my future wildflower area in the main garden and plant there. The soil is amazing so the plants should be happy. And the irises will be glad for me to leave them alone until late summer. Whistling

I didn't bring my honey bells over here to the new house. I've read they're actually invasive so didn't want to ruin any ecosystems here. I dug one up for my best friend though since she lives in town so she has her patch started.

Hoping to get my veggies planted tomorrow. We'll see how far I get on digging. Was gonna get some grass b gone but if I can make enough progress digging then I will maybe lay cardboard down to smother the grass around the veggies and call it good on that for this year. Be safer than spraying anything. Add mulch as I get it. Goal is for this spot to be fully wildflowers next year. We just don't have time to till this year between all the rain and being busy as heck so trying to pick a good spot that I can do it quickly and not be in the yard.

Hitting a couple garage sales tomorrow. One I found has fishing gear listed which I need a few things of so will see what I can find.

That's a cute shot!!

Mid 80s and sunshine today. No rain til tomorrow night so working the gardens. Trying to dig up the perimeter of what will be the current veggie but future wildflower bed. If I can get that done then I might ask my dad if he can unbury the tiller and do a quick 5-10 min till in there. We'll see. This is the hard part right now. Plus when I dig a clump I flip it over and beat the dirt out then toss the rest in the wheelbarrow. I'd rathered done a grass b gone spray in there to save time and energy but not enough time between rain so need to get this going.

Well, I got 1 side of the perimeter dug and that's it. Took forever to do that much. I got in there and weed eated to see how much space I have and it's not really enough so another spot will have to be used as well. I'll work on that after I get this area done. It's gonna have to be tilled but that won't take long. Just have to beg for it to be done tomorrow before the next round of rain hits tomorrow night. Meanwhile I'm done out there. The sun took it's toll on me with all that work (full sun beating down on me) so calling it. I'll do more tomorrow out there.

Another beautiful day here, mid 60s and sunny! Transplanted some celery, lettuce and Chinese cabbage into self-watering planters, trying to avoid the slugs that always invade them when planted in the ground!

Met up with my BIL and SIL from Florida later on, at a local bar and grill; so happy to see them again, looking forward to having them up here for the summer!

Hoping to get veggies planted today but I'm told I'm to learn to use the tiller. Big rear tine thing. If that's the case then the garden goes where it's supposed to go not in a last minute spot.

Veggie area tilled and now cleaning it up before I plant. Weeded my hosta bed today and moved hostas from another area to a couple different spots. Very productive day and I won't call it good until veggies planted and American Beautyberries planted. I'll mulch them another day. Running out of time today.

Storms later tonight, tomorrow and Tue. Also, currently a chance on Fri night.

72 / 58 mostly sunny, just started a light rain.
Mowed the lawn, needed some nitrogen in the compost pile
Repair person came over to look at the fridge, not holding a temp, put in a "starter" for the compressor, hope it works.
Unclogged the shower drain, oh the joy.

Jim sorry about the issues
Tom, those spiders are pretty cool, seen a few here, think they are called crab spiders.
