Such unusual textures, really lovely Dirt. More things I can't grow here but admire.
"My work is loving the world. Here the sunflowers, there the hummingbird — equal seekers of sweetness. Here the clam deep in the speckled sand. Are my boots old? Is my coat torn? Am I no longer young, and still not half-perfect? Let me keep my mind on what matters, which is my work which is mostly standing still and learning to be astonished." — Mary Oliver, from Messenger

Well, I've never seen it grown here or available here, but it does say down to zone 3a. It almost looks like Viper's Bugloss.

Wow! Love this grouping, Dirt, and excellent photo! I've got some penstemons that I got through a seed exchange, but not this one. What a blue!

I just love penstemons Lovey dubby
some are not terribly long-lived perennials for me, sadly
they are great fun the way they migrate around in my rock gardens and group themselves sometimes Hilarious!
