Double Parfait is very fragrant for me.
The blooms have thick substance and they are large, tall scapes. Diamond dusted, I love this one Lovey dubby

Amber and others that have this goal, congrats! I love fragrant plants and I don't seem to notice many of mine being very fragrant at all. I am watching this thread so I can add a few Hurray!

I have 2 that I am positive are very fragrant: Star Dream (1955) and Snow Elf (1974). Star Dream is probably the more fragrant of the two, and Snow Elf is always my first daylily of the year to bloom.

The detailed description of Star Dream says "pale yellow," but it always seems deeper than that for me. Both are planted by my front steps, and I notice the fragrance throughout the day.

I hope your hybridizing efforts efforts pay off!

Hardy hibiscus are a hobby, but daylilies are an obsession.

The 'Lemon Lily' - H. lilioasphodelus is the only one that I have ever been able to smell. Its a very early species, nocturnal that is extended. It is a dip. Each flower stays open for about 2 1/2 days. Smells like lilacs. Pure heaven. It does not seem to run like fulva so far here. Although I would always be cautions with species. But if your into dips, it may be well worth the effort. I have some it you want it next spring. Let me know. Oh, and yes, it is a a trumpet shaped yellow. About 28" high here in the northeast in the shade. It's not as pretty as all the newer hybrids, but its simplicity, makes it a keeper. Also will say that its something that one should look at when trying to get a jump on for extra earliers. Is blooms here in my zone 4 about mid April.

Helicopter is very, very fragrant here. Last year I had 6 clumps and they perfumed the whole front of the garden. Nice!

One of the clumps from the back. Front view was blocked by the Adena Inferno that grew way taller than registered.

Still blooming. Very fertile both ways also.

Land of Cotton has been very fragrant here. Besides, it's tall. Won't hurt your back bending over to sniff. Smiling

Mine flowered for the first time this morning. So far very underwhelmed by scent, stick my nose in and get something but not much. It is overcast today though or it may be more fragrant later or something, will check again later.
