I to love all the ideas! I want to try asparagus fern in my combos, makes for an airy feel. I use to grow those as house plants.

Karen are those the same baskets in your avatar. They are gorgeous!!!

Karen, I think I just had a newbie epiphany.

So you put plant plugs in the holes of these baskets??? Is that how you get such a full looking basket? Blinking

You don't lose any soil/water through these holes?

ssgardener: Yes, you plant through the holes. Your epiphany is correct
See instructions on this page

As water filters down through the pot, some water might roll out, but dirt stays put. Doesn't seem like it should, but it does.

Karen, I can't begin to tell you how I excited I am about this discovery! Hurray!

I had no idea you could plant hanging baskets this way. Now I'm going to have to get myself a digital camera so I can document my progress with my first bloommaster pots. Maybe I'll finally have a pretty picture for my avatar!

Thumbs up

Allison (onewish1) has planted and grown some beautiful ones. I don't remember where her pictures are- maybe in the coleus forum.

I think she had them posted on the Coleus Forum. http://garden.org/forums/view/...
I remember seeing them and I think it was in one of those threads.
