Which varieties do you think have the nicest purple flowers?

I had an old variety called 'Midnight Ride' they were out front when we bought this house and I just kept dividing and planting. Next thing I knew there were 40. I gave them away to a lady who wanted to do hostas around her patio. I also wanted to try different things and now I do have over a hundred different hostas. However I did save a picture of the flowers.

I am not a fan of Hosta with white flowers, as a rule, though I do have some I admire that are white.

The older varieties seemed to have more with beautiful purple flowers, and they hybridized out the purple in many cases.

When the flowers are beautiful, they can take center stage, surely.

One of my favourites with PURPLE flowers is clausa var. clausa. This one has big purple buds that never actually open. But be careful of the plant. It's very rhizomatous and will become a bully if it really likes the conditions. I plant it in spots where nothing likes to grow.

Purple Lady Fingers also has purple flowers that don't open. It's a small one that looks more like a grass! I have two in my gardens. One is thriving and the other is a dud!
