It truly is horrible. The ones who could afford to leave have left. It's so sad what the rest of them are having to endure.

Unfortunately, the ability to leave can depend on many factors...money and having any relatives living in the states are two that popped up immediately in my mind. And I know that older people are less likely to be able to survive in high heat, high humidity and limited food and water conditions.

It is shameful that our government would allow the people to become destitute. It infuriates me that so little help was offered to them except the tossing of rolls of paper towels by our POTUS. I won't say anymore as we can't discuss politics on NGA.

I will try to keep this tiny for the same reason: Empty land doesn't cost much and a nice resort hotel would do well there.
