That's a 3 hours drive from where I live and just 1.5 hours from Martin Haberer's. Did you ever visit his collection? Most of my named varieties I purchased from him.

I have been in your town, Daniel. It's a nice area. I was so happy to see that most homes had gardens and lovely plants.

Hello Karen, we live in a crater that has emerged by a meteroiten impact in the Jurassic time. You are right, it is a very beautiful area in which I live.

I found most of the smaller towns very beautiful. When I travel I try to stay away from the large cities. One thing I really loved is that the cemeteries are so beautifully kept in the small towns. One I visited at dusk had beautiful live plants, including semps) on each grave as well as candles burning on nearly all of the graves. Here is a pic I
took. This one was taken in Ebenhausen.

Very beautiful Karen. I make a Succulent basket for the grave of a very dear friend every year here in Olympia but most cemetaries here do not want to pay the grounds keeper to mow around flowers or shrubs etc. So sad.
Bev you can go ahead and correct my spelling on the word cemetaries as i have no idea how it should be but I am quite sure everyone reading this knows what i mean.
Prago is a beauty Daniel. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you all for the thumbs and acorns! Our cemeteries are the same, Jo Ann. No one wants to pay for care, and the families aren't close enough to do it, so they end up plain plots with hideous plastic flowers and wreaths. The one in the picture was made even more magical by the addition of fireflies everywhere! It was the first time I'd seen them.

What a great read this thread is.
Hi Daniel, thank you so much for posting a photo of your lovely seedling 'Lucky Luc'. I really like the pastel colors in one season, and then morphs into some pretty intense and lovely colors.
I have added 'Lucky Luc' to the database here at NGA. Please add photo if you have time. We would love to see photos from different seasons. Hen and chicks (Sempervivum 'Lucky Luc')
I see the seed parent is 'Red Cross'. That would be another new one for our database. Do you have any photos of 'Red Cross'? Hen and chicks (Sempervivum 'Red Cross')
The tower is a great addition to almost any garden. Yours is lovely with the different colors and textures, and giving height is an added bonus. Love it.

Karen the photo of the gardens in the cemetery is beautiful. Wish our here in the US were like that.

I wish that too, Lynn. It's possible that some of our smaller places may have nicer ones. I haven't checked, but I do love reading the information and dates on tombstones.

I may have to make a copy of that semp tower. Beautiful, and a great way to get them off the ground and into sight.
