I tip my hat to you. I tip my hat to you. Hurray! The photo of the Shirley Poppy opening by joannakat is superb ! Of course, it has nothing to do with the fact that I love poppies -- does it ?

Thank you so much @PeggyC! I was stunned when I saw it (the bud, not the picture). I love how the petals unfold into something so beautiful.

I love poppies too. Yes I love those huge red ones everyone in the country has but not as much as the delicate floating single or multiple petal fluttering in the breeze pastel poppies.

This may not look like a deserving place for them. Put there is a funny story as to why there are only red ones and I did not expect these to come up. Oh and some construction was going on when I took this pic.

Its easy for me to believe in miracles when science can't explain why a blade of grass has its shape and that is just one plant and one attribute.

@joannakat Thank you! Nature is a mystery. By the way, mice stole the poppies seeds and stored them in my upstairs master bedroom in an unused hamper. I went to use the hamper after years of unuse and found them. Hard to collect those little seeds. I guess I vacuumed them up. I think that is why I only have red ones. It might not make sense. How would mice know which are the seeds for red poppies of any kind and stay away from them?
