Still beautiful but not for me - one of those that becomes very rampant in our climate. I learned my lesson with Hawaiian Bells! (Stictocardia beraviensis). Couldn't resist its beautiful blooms, but had to hack it back 3 ft a day in our summer...... now it's gone but not without some effort!

I know what you mean. I just had to have a deep blue morning glory that was covering an arbor at a local nursery. I ordered two because they were out of them. The clerk asked, "You mean one, don't you?" I said no, that I wanted two to plant on either side of a trellis. He assured me that one would be more than enough, but I insisted on two. My neighbors on either side of my garden wish I had listened to him. All three of us are constantly yanking them out. Wherever the vine touches the ground, another plant grows up and over the shrubs and trees.

Do they die in the winter?

That is the key: in a (sub) tropical zone they don't die back...

I treat them as annuals, very fast growing! I planted 2 small 4" plants in May at the base of a trellis, a purple and a lime green white one, by the end of summer, they were completely covering it and I had to trim wayward strands that were trying to snag anybody walking past! We have had light frost for several weeks at night and it looks very ratty now so I am pulling it out.

Sue, those are gorgeous. I don't know why I've not seen them before. I'm heading to our local nursery to find seeds. I'm taking my phone to show them pics, so that if they haven't planned to grow these to sell, maybe they will now.

I stopped by our local nursery today. They didn't have their warm weather seeds yet, but will be ordering them soon. 'Took my phone number and will call when they come in, and save me a packet. Love shopping locally!

Sue, would it still grow from the roots, or cut back vines? If so, when warm weather arrives it would be beautiful again.
It's beautiful. Lovey dubby

I have no idea Lynn, I tried maybe 10 years ago and also lost them in the winter. Everywhere I have ever read about them say they are annuals, native of Mexico. Seeds are readily available at most places that carry them so should be easy to start and they are fast growing.

Lynn, remind me in spring and I'll send you some seeds. I ordered some at a local nursery and I won't have room for more than a couple vines. Even sharing with my neighbors, I'll still have seeds left over.
