I think they are going for the home, clothing, women's interests kinds of ads here. Google tries to match up the ads to the audience.

Because this site is free to use, there will be ads. We're being very upfront about that. The ads are our only source of revenue and provide the reason for our playground continuing Smiling

Obviously, our desire is to run a clean site, and inappropriate ads won't be tolerated. However, let's not mistake "inappropriate" for "dislike" Whistling

With Google ads, we aren't picking and choosing specific ads like a large corporation who has a sales team does. We sign up for "home and garden" ads, and Google decides which ads belong in that category. Clearly, some will be very interesting , and some we're going to roll our eyes at and move on.

Mine are turned off so I never see any, then I am reminded when threads like these pop up that there are ads here. Rolling my eyes.

I was simply asking, and i understand the need for the ads,
They were not offensive, the only thing that wasn't so good was that they displaced the plant information to the column on the right. Smiling

Sorry if I gave the wrong impression, Jospephine- no one if being fussed at for asking!

Many other people will be reading this thread now and later, new friends and old friends, so I wanted to make sure that the ads are being dealt with as openly as possible.

Just continuing our policy of being upfront:

yep, you'll be able to see ads
yes, you should always report inappropriate ads
no, the ads won't always be from your favorite nurseries (although many will be!)
yes, they will appear here there and everywhere, but we strive to always put the user first (as always!)
yes, you can always ask questions Smiling

I leave the ads turned on, because I know that's what pays for this site....and who knows? I might see something good! Smiling
