Yea I hear you on shipping. I picked out a handful of little ones from Blue J and they wanted to charge me $16 for shipping!!! Cancelled that order out.

Just have to select enough to make the shipping worth it.

The more you buy, the cheaper it is to ship per iris that is.

Good plan, Tom, but many irises i want are sold by vendors that do not stock many SDB's and i have most of the ones they do have so.......

Bonnie - for those that are with vendors you don't have many you want/need you could go in on an order with someone else. I have a large order going for Superstition, Shady Spot, Stout's and such. Adding a couple to my order would not increase my shipping. And mailing them to you would be cheap.

@IrisP Thank you for the effort but snowpeakiris.com has been closed for some time, tempotwo closed last year and I am assuming with a place name like Pruhonice, that one is in Europe as is Irisparadise.com and I am in the US. Actually I doubt a Botanical Garden sells. Breezeway doesn't sell the same iris every year. Bianco doesn't ship to US. cirisonpond.com doesn't bring up anything. I think I saw something about her being ill or dying. iris-26 is Loic Tasquier. Can't determine from his website if he ships out of European Union or not. Would like some of his.

Yes, thank you Fritz, for leads on some of these... maybe some folks will pursue an international purchase. I think Voss Iris Farm is an eBay seller, so I'll check their page when they start offering rhizomes this year. Also good to know that Breezeway carried 'Groovy Grubworm' at one time... maybe they'll offer it again soon?!

sorry when my informations are not so actual. In the US seems to be a big closing of iris farms. (15 in 7 years - so I know)

In 2015 we have a transfer of iris from several parks in Europe to Chicago.

Maybe we can repeat it in the future.

thank you Fritz for seeking these hard to find irises. Some of them have been on my wish list for several years so if ones are shared with the U.S. it may not be the older ones.

I wish that irises were exempt from the strictest of plant laws when shipping. After all the roots are cut back and are squeaky clean and the leaves are cut back and you could see if there was an insect or a health problem with the plant. But i would not want to import anything to anyone that would be harmful to the environment.
