Opuntia cylindrica cristata....Emerald Idol Cactus

This one has 3 growing points. I don't know what it is.

No, those are actually the ones that the plant normally looks like. If I am going to be serious about the crested part, I should cut those off.....

I meant the "skinny little things" sticking up in the air.... I think it looks cool like it is, but I understand about cutting them off.

I almost thought we had the same one Hetty, but no, mine is Opuntia subulata cristata, otherwise known as Eve's Needle Crest.

That is the thing, however, with crested plants, that many end up looking similar.

Crested cacti are really interesting to see..very intriguing indeed!

This one is harder to find. I've never seen it at home depot or lowes. I have ssen it Arizona Cactus sales, and plan stopping by there this weekend to see if they have one. I do have one more crested cactus. Had a heck of a time finding it. Couldn't remember if it was in the front yard or the back yard. Turns out it was in the front yard, buried by all the leaves fallen off my Bradford Ornamental Pear Tree. This is Mammillaria matudae cristata.

If you find one, could you buy two please....
