It would sure be nice to see some other plants showcased for these events, rather than the same ol' standards. Just a thought. I will, nevertheless, enjoy all the photos.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.

Oh, gosh - salvias, geraniums, heucheras, daisies, any number of flowers really. Perhaps announce the specific plant earlier in the year so folks can gather photos and generate some discussion. One could keep the 'Big 5' (as I think of daylily-iris-lily-rose-semps) but perhaps add in two other rotating genera.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.

Yes I find the daylily, rose, iris and the other one quite boring now. There are so many other fabulous plants. I agree with Deb, time for a change.
