Really peculiar names indeed! Perhaps there is a bit of sarcasm behind the names 'Tantalizing Red' and 'Frivolous Pink' but the misspelling ..... he obviously didn't use his spell check.

LOL! I wonder whether his last name is pronounced CON-yer? I'd be tempted to pronounce it that way, just to partly make up for these naming trasgressions. I'm a bit of stickler for naming. I will admit that, being slightly dyslexic, I'm not the world's best speller, and so I never caught the misspelling of Lady of Shalott by the ARS. That said, a person who is both incapable of perceiving the difference between pale lilac and red and incapable of spelling either fluorescent or fuchsia probably should not be allowed to name roses. Not without help.

Ahhh, Steve ... you are a stickler about more than naming ...

I think any one who can create a rose can name it anything he wants to name it. I think the creation of a rose, or any other plant, is participating in a miracle. Everything else just isn't as important.

Maybe that's because my breeding attempts haven't really produced anything I wanted to share. Who knows ?
