I'm wondering if the name has been changed. I don't find it in the Cat of Life. Many botanical gardens don't have correct signage. I did find this from a long time ago:

Based on the patent (your link), the name seems correct to me, but perhaps I am missing something:

The species is misspelled on the sign. It's andraeanum. Here's a link:

Zuzu, is it in the Cat of Life? I get so confused trying to look up plants there. I didn't see it.

I don't think the CoL lists cultivar names, only species. Here's their listing for A. andraeanum

You're right, Lin, I keep forgetting that little fact!

While A. andreanum is a misspelling of A. andraeanum, today it is used by the horticultural trade to describe the large group of Anthurium hybrids originally bred with it as a parent. Several other species are involved including A. scherzerianum and A. amnicola. Given this when we see A. andreanum used in a patent/PBR or sellers description it is not describing a cultivar of the species but instead a complex hybrid group.

For those interested PLUTO: Plant Variety Database classifies the botanical name of these plants as Anthurium-Andreanum-Hybriden,Anthurium x cultorum Birdsey. PLUTO is a database of plants with patents, plant breeders rights, plant variety rights, etc.
