And a smaller Maranta, that I want to grow to a somehow bigger size, although I think these ones stay quite small.

@Faridat

Hi!

I am a little late to this thread but I bought a plant that looks identical to the first image in this post (the green and white/cream). What type of Maranta is this species? The tag that came with it says its a Peacock Plant but I suspect that it indeed isn't. This is the first image I have found of it during my research. I want to propagate it a well as make sure I am caring for it correctly Smiling

Thanks so much!

You might get more hits with Ctenanthe lubbersiana. It does have Peacock Plant as a common name. Nice plant! I saw them for sale at Home Depot this week.

Yes its always confusing between calathea, ctenanthe and maranta. All the same family. Sometimes plants have been switched over from calathea to ctenanthe. The leaf shape is pretty much morphologically different from calathea. Most nurseries seem to label them all calathea. I think they think it confuses people less.
Most box stores lump them together as either peacock plant or prayer plant

I love these plants. I bought a small one that was perfect. I brought it home,and it was dead the next day! Lol. I guess it's just not my kind of plant.

Patty, that plant was probably dying when you bought it. Can you take it back to the place where it was purchased?

Anyone in here had success with their Calathea fusion white? I just had her and Makoyana for a few days.. so far so good. I've been checking out articles regarding its care but there's very few so I think I'll just proceed on the same way I do with my Orbifolia. Calatheas in general are very finicky but this might be on a higher level Sad I hope I can keep up! Crossing Fingers!

I really like this group as there are quite a few gardeners that have experienced similar problems with plants.
I have a white fusion calathea that has leaves that have lost most of its variegation. I have it growing in my green house in bright indirect light. I thought it would increase the variegation, but, it has not. Instead, it is losing its variegation, has flowered and it is growing fuller. One thing good is the leaves are less dry. I think I am doing everything right. Should I be fertilizing it with a special fertilizer? I give it a liquid fertilizer for maintenance. Help! Sighing!

Its is reverting to its natural form. The variegation of White Fusion (also known as White Dragon) is incredibly unstable.

White Fusion (Dragon) is a sport variegation of Calathea albertii. Mine is always putting out regular albertii leaves.
