Thread OP

I found an overseas wholesale nursery that has Chinese Star Anise (Illicium Verum) plants for sale. They are fairly expensive although within what I would pay for one - the problem is, I have to purchase 20 of them

If I can find U.S. buyers for 15 of them at $60. US each, I can buy the 20 of them then ship individual ones to whoever purchases them (that price includes a few dollars for the shipping to you) they are 10-15 inches tall and will be shipped legally to the U.S.

Please let me know if you are interested. If you have another source for this plant, I'm willing to buy it from you instead of going to this expense of importing them (If I can find enough interest) I live in an apartment and definitely cannot afford or have room for 20 of them

Or, one could just pick up some cheap Star Anise and seed them out?

seeds are only viable for a couple of days and the only seeds I have found online are nonviable (I have purchased many and already tried)

Top Tropicals in Ft Myers FL sells this tree rooted in a 3 gallon container for $67. Usually free shipping via Fedex, depends on what state you live in. They will not ship to California on this but everywhere else is open. They also carry the seeds

This is another one of those dated threads, it originated in 2017.

For the record, I would not order any plant material from overseas right now when domestic nurseries are having trouble delivering plants because of shipping delays.

Truth. I was at the post office yesterday. Last week, there were maybe 3 people? yesterday there were about 20. And all were shipping multiple packages. One lady was talking to the postal employee who was helping her with approximately 25 packages, and she was saying that she had been laid off and had not received any unemployment benefits...it had been over 5 weeks. So she was gathering up everything in her ouse that she did not need and selling it off on eBay to buy food. I also saw a man come in with 2 huge stuffed duffle bags, already had bought the postage, and dump about 50 small packages into the 'prepaid' cart. And he was not the only one. A teacher was there mailing out stuffed manilla envelopes of printed materials to her students. It was crazy. People are resorting to many different measures just to stay afloat right now

Gina, that is so dang sad. I feel so bad for these poor people waiting so long for their money. I saw some young woman post on Nextdoor asking if anyone has received any money yet, she was running out and worried how she was going to buy food. Another elder lady posted she could come vacuum her carpet, and dust for her, since she was too old to do that and she'd pay her $300. for the work. That was so nice and really jerked my heart strings. Lovey dubby

Yes it is getting scary. Its kind of like the fall of Western Civilization. My daughter has an interview for a job today as a PIZZA BAKER. She has put out applications to so many places just looking for a subsistence job since she lost hers and had to move back home. She is excited just to get the interview.
