It's been in the negatives here, lately, so I'm excited that this week we should actually have some above-freezing daytime temperatures. Whoo-hoo! Hurray!

Yes it has been freezing here! I wish I could send it your way Kelli! LOL

It has been in the single digits much this past two weeks and even colder with the wind and at night....I'm sick of it to be honest. I love the cold because the longer cold, the more time to winter sow and plan next years beauty but this is crazy! This is my second winter at the house and this past two weeks, the HVAC system has not been able to maintain temperature and I woke up to a chilly 57 degrees in the house! It's an old house that was remodeled so I'm hoping to do some more winterizing this upcoming year and looking into other options like maybe a space heater or even a wood stove.....I hated them cuz I can never get them started at my parents but now I'm rethinking LOL. Last year, we had one night/day that it was a degree or two below and had the auxillary heat ON, this year its seeming like a more common occurence here! Rant Done. LOL

Anyways, I'm up to 68 winter sown containers and I am just gonna keep plugging away now that the holidays and alot of things are out of the way! Whistling Whistling Hurray!

Bless your heart Libby. I was talking with Val tonight and she's in the negatives so she feels your pain.

I am down to 4 more things to finish what I can this month until seeds arrive, lol. But I'm out of jugs so it gives me time to catch up. I raided my fridge and threw out everything near out of date. That gave me 6 more tubs. Yay! And I'm pushing the boys to eat more vinegar and drink more milk. If I eat anymore ice cream (blue bunny containers are the bomb) I'll be as big as the broad side of a barn come March. nodding

Is anyone done packing yet?

pinkiris.... I need to know which queen lime red you bid on. Was it the Lime Red or the Lime Red Hearts?

I'm done packing, but I only have 26 to send, and all but 4 were prepacked. The preprinted labels on the computer are sure nice. I didn't get them printed for the Fall swap, but I only sent 11 for that one (my first swap).
I want to make more Hibiscus, and try Daylily, Lily and Iris crosses, and have unique seeds for next Fall. I don't have the patience to grow very many of them myself, but maybe someone will get something unique and wonderful, and post a picture 2 or 3 years from now.

Ty. In the lists it didn't make it clear for me. If I list those together again I'll change the listing so we don't run into that again.

All done, even found a mailbox. I too had less than 50 to mail and had them all labeled before the swap. Just needed names to go with them.

I hope you all break out of your sub freezing temps soon!

KarenHolt in a previous swap this same problem occurred. I had two plants with the same listing but different colors. The suggestion was made to include something in the quantity box that would differentiate. ie 20 yellow. Hope that helps. I'm glad you were able to do this swap. I ended up putting dibs on several of your offerings.

Richard, that is a good suggestion! I might take it one step further, just so that the measurement isn't lost....

You could just put a letter after it, such as "1TBS (y)" or "30 seeds (y)"... And for colors starting with the same letter, such as purple and pink, just as a second letter (pu) or (pi), for example. Just a thought!

Thanks so much! I was truly happy I was able to make this one too. My swapping seasons are just not the same when I don't start with Libby's. Smiling And I do hope you are happy with everything. I'm so tickled you did buy from me. :)

As far as the listing goes, in all honesty, I made that second listing for the red hearts but the person who approved it made it go up under queen lime red. I'm gonna ask one of the moderators to change the way it's listed because of the swaps. I had a hunch this would happen and now that it has, maybe they will give it it's own listing. Thankfully, I had not offered as much of one as the other but it still isn't clear once everything is gone. Perhaps Dave needs or can address this.

RHarbison,

I talked with Dave today about the problem we have had with two sets of seeds. He has gone in and now we can sort the sets like that by plant ID number. The lower the number, the earlier the seed was listed in the database. My queen lime reds are 4977 or some such number. The queen lime red hearts are a 5 digit number. We can at least use that to go by until he can find a better fix. For now, this is it. But I was happy. At least now when it's time to pack up we will know which is which.

I wanted to post this here in the event everyone now sees the plant id's on their packing lists and wondered what was going on. This is it. Smiling

As much a proponent as I am for tying the seed listings into the database in cases such as these why not list "Plant X Yellow" and "Plant X Blue"?

Leslie, thats how I wound up listing some of mine for the last swap. I prefer the link so I can just click it to find out more about what I'm bidding on, but sometimes you have to do what works instead of what you prefer.

If I can figure out a fence system that's cheap, sturdy & non permanent, I plan to work on securing the garden from the holy terror (also known as a 6 month old puppy). Then I can get started on planting.
