How about a super power that just turns the rocks into amazing compost? I'd go for that kind of super power!

>> turns the rocks into amazing compost?

My jaw dropped and hairs stood on end on my forearms! yeah, THAT's the power I want.

"Turns rocks into compost ..."

Or gold. I'd settle for either one.

Another daydream is the ability to teleport cubic miles of feedlot manure ddirect to my backyard. Well, maybe not cubic MILES, not right at first.

But I would like to be able to swap-teleport a few acre-feet of sandy soil from FL or TX, for the same acre-feet of heavy clay soil in New England or almost anywhere else.

I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown

Just noticed this thread.
My version.

For routine gardening here, it's spades or shovels.

Spades (rectangularish shape), British, are for digging in softer soil and shovels (pointed lower end), Ukrainian, are for digging in harder central European soil.

Spades, with our upgraded clay or occasionally upgraded sandy soils, are obviously the necessary choice for the routine gardening tasks of edging.

For the shallow sandy soil, with bits of rock in it, in cottage country (up North e.g. Muskoka) traditional shovels are best for burying, for instance, kitchen organic waste.

Natalie I just saw your message about the spade/shovel that I have, our soil has some rocks but nothing like yours sounds. I would think if the rocks are not large it might work you never know until you give it a try. I got mine from QVC not sure if they still have them in stock, the feedback on them was very good. Just checked they still have them check out the feedback for yourself. http://www.qvc.com/Spear-Head-...

I love mine it makes digging and planting so much easier for a woman.

I've been digging in some really really rocky area (the people who owned my home before I bought it put down LOTS of rock w/o any kind of weed barrier, so the rocks have been sinking down into the dirt) as of late, and I've been using the heck outta my trencher. But mine's 100% steel.. the handle, the blade, everything.

As far as I know all Craftsman tools carry this guarantee.

I think that is correct. Last year I purchased the Craftsman garden hose. It was guaranteed for life. Why buy a hose anywhere else?

I'd buy one! Looks more like a clod breaker than a regular hoe. Link?
