I'm confused with this plant, the flowers do look like Lysimachia, but the leaves don't fit any species I have googled.
http://www.google.be/search?q=....

The flowers do look very much like Lysimachia punctata, but that one has smaller and neat leaves, and the flower whirls are much closer together than in mine. The leaves on mine are very big and don't look as neat as any other lysimachia.
I think I found the plant in the nature reserve..the picture dates from 30th May 2009.

My first thought was Lysimachia punctata: http://www.google.com/search?q...

Thanks Lin, I had thought L.punctata too, but got unsure because of:

.

Thanks for the link too, I think I saw one picture with some bigger leaves, so maybe mine is just a natural variation.. Smiling

I'm not sure though Lin! They look very similar!

Lysimachia punctata is a garden escapee, but usually is found on banks and roadsides.

Lysimachia vulgaris on this wildflowers site looks different to pics I see elsewhere! It does live in swampy places.

http://www.ukwildflowers.com/W...

There was a mention of Lysimachia verticillaris, finding a decent or correct photo of any is difficult and I guess many are misnamed.

There are some descriptions of several on this site,

I found a description of L.punctata, it could be that!

http://ferrometall.blogspot.co...

The pedunculated flowers are located within the axillary (Blattachsel) of the whorls (with 3 to 4 flowers per whorl). Each flower is radial with five yellow petals per flower. The petals have a egg-shaped and ciliated tip.
Sometimes, L. punctuata is confused with Lysimachia vulgaris L., but the inflorescence of this species is a normal panicle and the petals have a red-rimmed tip. The leaves are also narrower and longer.

Lysimachia europaea is one I can't find but it seems to be a different genus.

There's quite a list of Lysimachia on this site, but L. punctata so far is closest. The leaves do look more coarse though.

Thanks Janet, yes, Lysimachia punctata is the closest so far, but the leaves on mine keep bothering me.. who knows maybe it is a natural hybrid.. Rolling my eyes. i have looked at whatever picture there is on the web but didn't find a real match exept for the flowers which do fit with L.punctata.
in my beginning gardening years I have had Lysimachia vulgaris and it really doesn't look like that.

I know this is a few years later...but on another forum someone identified a similarly-looking plant as the non-native Moth mullein. Perhaps this is the plant you found? It has larger leaves. BUT the flowers do look more like the colors of our native Lysimachia punctata, which is much better for many native bees. Perhaps it is a hybrid of the two?
