Carole, I reviewed the rules and didn't find any such distinction, in fact, I came across this
' It doesn't have to be totally from your garden, esp if its a native'. Perhaps my assumption could be classed under 'operator error'.

Some of these photos, well ALL of the photos, really just take my Breath away!! I cant comment on each entry, I dont think, although I would like to be able to . Because they are all so great! I am newish to this site, and not very smart about how it works. But just to clarify I think the rules are very generous, only that the Bs are true and fairly obviousB's, and not too obscure, etc. It is interesting to post things outside of out own gardens too, just not posting the same photo twice, and I FORGOT to mention, we used to discourage people from taking photos down off the internet (when TRULY desperate) for copyright reasons more than anything else. I dont see that as a problem as so many of you have massive collections of plant photographs, its astonishing really. Oh and its ok to go back and plump up the ingredients in the previous threads, i am about to post a couple more As for example. Anyway here are a few more B's.

@dirtdorphins
One of the common names for that blue phlox posted above is Wild Blue Phlox, other of the common names listed also have B for blue in it's common names. I'd figured it'd be so reflected in said post from the data base.

I gave a thumb up to the above common name with blue in the title and it is so reflected now.

That is just a Peony lactiflora, and thank you. Sure you can post either common name or the Latin name, prefereably by the genus first letter, just because people generally don't go about referring to malvacea for example, unless they are very exclusively talking about species of some genera but as I say, if you are desperate, lol, as some of you may be by the time we get to X for example....

I do have one generic Baptisia...kind of a love/hate thing with it because I screwed up and knowingly planted it in a spot where it wasn't ever going to have enough room D'Oh! it didn't even make any sense at the time, either, but, I told myself it wasn't going to live and the little piece of root went there anyway, and it didn't seem to live for a few years and so I planted other stuff there too...dumb, dumb, dumb
I dug half of it out last year Rolling my eyes.
every once in a while it sneaks into some color echo pictures

on the left of that blue iris (which is Blenheim Royal, so it qualifies in the Bs even if it's not in focus Hilarious! )

and a fabulous weed known as the Blackfoot Daisy--talk about non-stop flower power from the end of June 'til the first hard freeze--and drought loving too, amazing

they volunteered all over my driveway rock garden and they were eating everything--I had already yanked out quite a few and hacked off plenty of sprawlers several times by then
