We've all been there, right? We water a potted plant and nothing drains from the bottom into the dish or bowl meant to catch that excess water so after waiting a few minutes, we water it some more. Then it pours out of the pot and fills the dish, maybe even to overflowing. Uh.

If the plant is outside, you can just tip it to spill the water out onto your lawn or patio. But if you're indoors....

Use a turkey baster to remove that water from the dish! Very easy, takes only a moment or two, and now you can use that water on another plant so as not to waste any plant food you may have added to the water.

I found a plastic baster at the dollar store so I don't have to use the one I use for cooking. Easy to clean afterward--just run some water through it and Bob's your uncle!

I'm having the same problem with big potted plants, so I'm going to use the turkey baster thingie. Thank You!
In some Native languages the term for plants translates to "those who take care of us."
