Carole, I wonder if it's name has been changed to Coconut Magnolia (Magnolia coco)

edited to add: I have Banana Shrub (Magnolia figo) which used to be called Michelia. Smiling

it grows 3m x 2m though. I'd say that's it under Magnolia (I think I'd heard more recently that they'd changed the name from my tagged Michelia .... back to Magnolia).

Maybe it simply doesn't quantify in the Dwarf Magnolia, Coco link?

Well on the other hand, after thinking for a couple minutes ---- compared to a Magnolia Grandiflora, it would be dwarf!

I've looked at Dwarf Magnolia, Coco in Plants Database, and it has a Coconut Magnolia as an alternative name but it appears all white - not like my Coco ... It has very alike flowers to your Figo but a little larger (and also beautifully perfumed)

That sure looks like Magnolia coco to me. I've read flower color is white to creamy white with burgundy edges.

...and I have too Smiling

the only part I get hung up on is entering data such as "Will tolerate light frost" It would be good for those of us not in your climate, to have a dropdown for other comments in that section. Then I could put notations such as that.

Carole, if you scroll down to the very bottom of the database page for Coconut Magnolia (Magnolia coco), under the section that says "Adding Actions", click on the second item that says Post a comment to add any comments you might be able to provide that won't fit in the regular data fields.
