Last year was its maiden bloom, so it would be a few years before it is introduced, if ever. I really liked the size, form, and substance of its flowers (and, of course, the color!). The next few years will tell the tale in terms of its bloom and plant habits. I've figured out how to register iris easily enough, but am still struggling to determine the best way to go about introducing them. Have to figure that out someday.

Is the problem that you have to introduce it before or at the same time it is registered? Because I think Randy Squires registered HAWAIIAN RAIN and set up a website that showed some of his seedlings and posted HAWAIIAN RAIN as a new introduction and gave the price and his email and mailing addresses. And that was proof of advertising and introduction.

But if you don't want to handle the details, another way would be to contact Hugh Stout about introducing it for you. Or perhaps you could place an ad with the Tall Bearded Iris Society (TBIS) online and handle it that way.

I have the space for 1000 or so seedlings at any one time, which is adequate as long as I am ruthless when culling them each year. But, I don't have nearly enough space to produce the number of plants per variety you should have when making an introduction. So I need to find either more space or a grower interested in introducing them for me. Haven't figured that part out yet.

You can introduce an iris any time after it is registered. I have one registered now cause I got tired of reserving the name. For various reasons, it's not out as yet.

I have quite a few blue ones some that are favorites so Hope this helps cant wait till spring !!

Absolutely beautiful, Aruba! I have some of those too, but I never get those big beautiful clumps like you have. I think RIPPLING RIVER is exceptionally gorgeous, and I just got DODGER BLUE last year and hope it will bloom for me this spring. You have wonderful blues!

And who is that little doll in your avatar? What a treasure, especially pictured with those big tall irises! The iris reminds of RUSTLER, or maybe DRINKS AT SUNSET?

What a great idea, Aruba! Joanna sure looks like she likes the garden. My granddaughter does too. Gardening with children is wonderful fun. Mostly. I remember those big feet, until she got old enough to know what she could trample through, and what not.
