Freedombelle said:Today Weasel has seen his best day in a week with his pulled muscle, and I think the stronger pain killer has been a huge help, he still lifts his front paw at times but now does not just keep his head hanging down, let us hope tomorrow is even better! The sore muscle has effected his dog down into his leg. I know he is better! LOL, first time in a week he sat and stared at us eating our dinner, getting back to his normal Weasel ways I guess. Hurray!

Hope he is even better tomorrow.

So my cat loving neighbor came by this morning so we both went out back to check the cat shelter in back of my garage. We think Shadow The Gray Cat has been using it. Someone has as we can tell the straw inside the shelter has been flattened down some.

Also something has been using my front porch cat shelter. Hope it is the cat and not raccoons or possums sleeping there.

I got up this morning to an empty fish tank...10 gallons of water...it sat on a stand next to my laptop and printer. Luckily the laptop didn't get wet or any of the wires, printer had some water on it but may be okay. There were books and papers that soaked up a lot. Wood floor should be fine once it dries.
Good news both the catfish and beta were still alive. It must have happened shorty before I got up. My son has an extra tank that I will get and set up. Other than a sudden leak we have no idea what happened Confused

Is it a glass aquarium? Maybe the seal broke. Did you do any glass scraping to clean and got too close to the silicone seal, or did it get bumped into?....Well, you said you don`t know what happened so I am just guessing for you. Yikes, what a mess! We have 2/25 gallon tanks and a 10 gallon, and I just bought my betta a 5.6 gallon tank......you would think this was a tropical fish store.

We were a feline only family for many, many years. We had 3 cats and ended up taking in my mother in laws two when she moved to assisted living. They were all older cats and began passing within a few years of each other. Our last was my mom's cat Princess who we took in when my mom went into hospice care. She made us promise to take her Princess because she knew we loved cats and although both of my sisters wanted her, they both have big dogs and mom was so worried that the dogs would hurt the kitty. Princess was the last of our felines, she passed 6 years ago and we went about 8 months without a pet before trying to decide whether we wanted another feline or a canine. We've had a 150 gal. marine aquarium for many years but fish just aren't pets Smiling It had been 35+ years since we'd had a canine in the family so we decided to adopt a dog and we ended up with these Goofy Golden's who keep us smiling and laughing every day.

Boeing/"Bo" (my husband teaches in the aviation field and sometimes calls him Bo-Jet) Bo was 7 months old when he came to live with us, he will be 5 in April.

Toby came into our household at 6 weeks of age. No particular reason for the name, he just looked like "Toby" to me .. my husband sometimes calls him Toby Keith or TK and he seems to get all excited but it's probably just the tone of voice and the fact that Golden Retrievers are just perpetuously happy dogs. Toby will be 2 in June:

I miss having a feline in the family and we've contemplated adopting one; Bo has been around my sister's cat and is fine but Toby we aren't so sure about. He almost caught a squirrel yesterday ... although, I think a kitty would put him in his place very quickly. Green Grin!

Oooh, that's scary when suddenly an aquarium leaks, glad you were able to save the fish. I hope you find the cause and that the tank is repairable. Years ago, we had a 125 gal. acrilic salt water tank; my husband had bought it used and we don't know how old it was when we go tit. We were sitting on the sofa watching t.v. one day and suddenly heard a very loud pop ... hubby realized it came from the fish tank area and got up to check it out. I can't remember what he saw but he immediately yelled for me to get some bins. We have a bunch of those large plastic rubbermaid bins and he got his hose and got the water draining into those containers and netted the fish and rocks, etc. He used his hand-truck/dolly to get the tank outside and I went and opened the front door for him to wheel it out. Just as he got outside the door, the tank disintegrated and fell apart!! We were fortunate that it happened while we were home ... can't imagine finding 150 gallons of salt water covering the floor and dead fish everywhere! We went with a glass tank after that experience and had some very large fish that had survived that incident as well as two moves; then last fall we evacuated due to an approaching hurricane due to the fact that our property has lots of huge trees, some very close to the house and we were concerned because of the predicted power of the storm. Our area lost electricity during the hurricane and my brother in law went down the next morning after the storm had passed to check on things and to get the generator started but the power had been off for so many hours that all the fish had died. The live corals and snails and crabs survived but not the fish. Sad

Oh Lin! That is so sad! Sad A marine tank is a expensive loss! I have lost entire fish in a tank because of a heater sticking on and it got too hot and killed them all. Mine were freshwater fish so not a huge financial hit, but I felt bad for the fish with something out of their control. I always hear "fish have no feelings" well, who has ever been a fish and experienced that! So sorry to hear about your aquarium.

Thanks Linda ... We still have an aquarium; when the fish died after the hurricane my husband got a couple of tiny clown fish and cardinal fish and some other little ones for the tank.

Oh Lin I cant even imagine 150 gallons of water and I thought 10 was a mess Blinking We only had two fish but the catfish is our grand-kids favorite and it is fun watching him grow. Sad that you lost all of yours Crying
The tank was leaking somehow from the bottom, I guess the seal broke somehow Shrug! We got our sons old tank, it's a thirty gallon so that's an upgrade for me. He had a nice stand so I can move it away from the computer. Louie the catfish and Bluey the beta are doing fine in their new home. Hurray!

That is a gorgeous tank you have there! I remember years ago when my son moved out, he had a 80 gallon salt water tank he left behind, all I had the nerve to stock it with was Damsels, they seem hardy, and they did well.

Some fish really do have "personalities"! Back in the early 70's we had two 30 gal and a 20 gal and 10 gal fresh water tank. We had two big fish that I can't remember what they were and they were so cool, seemed to dance whenever anyone came into the room, especially near the tank ... probably just hoping to get food but they were fun fish! I'm so glad that your Louie and Bluey are fine and enjoying their new tank/habitat! You could plant up the old tank and turn it into a terrarium! Green Grin!

He feels better I can tell because he attacked the poodle twice today for getting too close to his rawhide. Another time today he was running and romping with the poodle, but I stopped it because he is just getting over his pulled muscle. It was almost 50 degrees here today and me and my husband took the poodle and Pomeranian for a walk, but Weasel had to stay home, we decided a mile walk would not be good for him. He is still on his pain pills and I hope once they are gone he will not be hurting.

Linda, thank you; it's my hubby's baby. We've had Damselfish in the past ... both the bright blue ones with yellow tails and others that I think were called Domino Damsel's, (black with white spots). They are neat fish!

I have a Hexagon tank that my best friend had sitting in their garage for years. It belonged to their son who had fresh water fish in it for a few years and then when he was in college, he had it at his apartment set up as a habitat for his snake, "Monty Python". Smiling
I use it as a terrarium; I had to take the lid with the light off the top because the Chinese Evergreen got so tall. I need to replant it with smaller plants in the near future.
